Kirkham Grammar School occupies a 30 acre site midway between the city of Preston and the seaside town of Blackpool, overlooking the pleasant country surroundings of rural Fylde. There are excellent road and rail links with the motorway (M55 junction 3) just a five minute drive from school. Kirkham and Wesham Railway Station is just a fifteen minute walk and Manchester Airport can be reached by road or train in approximately one hour.
The school is readily accessible from all areas of Preston, Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and attracts day pupils from as far afield as Lancaster, Chorley and beyond! Many pupils travel to and from school daily via our dedicated school coach service.
There are a variety of small villages and towns to explore throughout the Fylde such as the market towns of Poulton-le-Fylde and Garstang as well as the beautiful seaside towns of St Anne's on Sea and Lytham. The latter hosts the annual, and incredibly popular, Lytham Festival which has welcomed artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol, Jamiroquai, Tom Jones, Lionel Ritchie to name just a few.
The world-famous landscape of the Lake District can be reached in just over an hour. Here, you can explore the beautiful and vast hills and mountains or take a stroll or boat ride from one of its many beautiful villages such as Arnside or Windermere. Slightly closer to school is the stunning Ribble Valley which is home to the Forest of Bowland and Pendle Hill.
In contrast to the above locations, the bustling and cultural cities of Manchester and Liverpool can be reached by road or train in just over an hour.
