Image of Junior School Celebrate Burns Night

Burns Night was celebrated in Scotland on Friday evening. It commemorates the life of Robert Burns, who was born on January 25, 1759. The day also celebrates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture and today our Pre-School and I3 children have been learning about Scottish traditions! On Friday morning, the Pre-School children made porridge and Scottish shortbread and in the afternoon had a visit from Mrs Mulgrew who brought in haggis, tatties and neeps for them to try. They finished the day off by having a go at Scottish dancing! In Literacy, the I3 pupils looked into the life of Roberts Burns and also learnt the Selkirk Grace! In the afternoon, like the Pre-School children, I3 tried haggis, tatties and neeps, before learning some Scottish Dancing!
