Yesterday, KGS U14 girls competed for a place in the Regional Hockey Finals at UCLAN Sports Arena. In the first game against AKS the girls were very nervy and struggled to get going in the first half. They defended very well indeed but didn’t settle really throughout the game. They had their breaks and after defending extremely well were unlucky to concede when they stopped play instead of playing to the whistle. In the second game, KGS dominated from start to finish and they should have scored a handful. After going 1-0 up, the girls continued to press and Stonyhurst caught them on the break to equalise and make the game 1-1. The girls needed to score three in the last match against Lytham to go through. Once again KGS dominated from start to finish and were delighted to win 3-0 to take them through to the Regional Finals at Timperley during the first week of November. Well done girls.
