On Monday 27 March, Kirkham Grammar School U13 A and B netball squads took part in the Fylde and Wyre Netball Tournament.
KGS' U13B team took part in the B team competition playing three matches against St Aidan's, Garstang and AKS and the girls had to work hard throughout their quick-fire 8 minute matches. Kirkham's goals were scored by Hollie and Anna who worked incredibly hard throughout the match, as did the whole team who all delivered fantastic team performances. After winning all three in the round robin competition, Kirkham Grammar U13 B team were the overall winners and won the competition. Well done, girls!
The U13A team had a tough group draw in the A competition and played back to back matches against a number of good teams. In the first game, despite a slow start, the girls showed great improvement throughout the game resulting in a close 7-6 win.
The KGS girls' second match was probably their toughest game and the team suffered a heavy loss. The third game was another close one where KGS worked well under pressure to secure a 4-4 draw. Following a further two winning team performances, they proceeded to the semi-finals and the subsequent final. Despite a good team performance in the final, the girls ended a fantastic day as runners up of the A competition.
