Remembrance Day services are held around the UK to commemorate and remember those who served the country in two world wars and also in the more recent conflicts.
On Thursday morning, Kirkham Grammar Senior School pupils and staff held their annual Remembrance Day Service led by our Senior NCOs. During the service, our School Captains, Jack Wigglesworth and Millie Homan, read the bidding and a Bible passage taken from the Gospel of St John. Captain Atkinson, the Contingent Commander, led the service with the whole school falling quiet for a two minute silence. 'The Last Post' and 'Reveille' were played by Fourth Year pupil and CCF cadet, Jasmine Squires-Evans. At the end of the service, the platform party moved to the Old Hall to lay wreaths at the First and Second World War memorial plaques.
The assembly, and wreath laying, allowed the school community to reflect and remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
