Senior Girls PE - Sports Presentation Evening 2024
Throughout each academic year the pupils, coaches and teachers work tirelessly to ensure we produce the best results we can as being part of the KGS team.
We try to provide as much opportunity as possible whilst still remaining high performing on the national circuit and this effort shows in our awards to date this academic year:
- LTA U13A & U15A Lancashire Champions
- The U13B finished in 3rd place whilst the U15B team were runners up
- Some of our younger pupils represented the U18 squad in the national Aberdare Cup
- In Athletics the junior squad finished as runners up and the Inters as champions in the first round of the national track and field cup. This qualified both teams for the regional finals were the Inter team went on to win and qualify for the 2024 National finals in Stoke on Trent on Saturday 6 July 2024.
- In the Fylde Coast the U12 squad won, the U13's were runners up, U14's champions and U17 runners up.
In hockey we were crowned:
- U12 National festival champions
- U13A Lancashire champions & U13B Lancashire runners up.
- The U13A squad came 3rd in the regional finals of the national mini hockey and reached the semi-final of the national independent schools cup whilst the U14 squad reached the semi-finals of the Tier 1 EH championships.
- The U15's were not to be outdone reaching the quarter finals of the National Independent schools cup.
- At the top end of the school both our 1st and 2nd XI squads continued to lead by example with the 1st XI competing in the EH tier one competition and our 2nd XI in tier 2.
On the netball courts, we entered new and exciting competitions:
- The U12, 13 and 14 squads were part of the Sisters N Sport National Netball Cup.
- The U12's got to the last 22 in the country, the U13's to the final 16 of the plate and the U14 squad reached the national semi-final.
In swimming, we were runners up in the Bridges Baton and finished in 3rd place in the Stanley Cook quadrangular gala.
In cross country the U13 squad finished in 2nd place both at the Stonyhurst and Sedbergh invitation runs whilst the team impressed at the Fylde and Wyre championships with the U12 and U14 teams finishing in 1st place with the U15's in a close 2nd.
We must also recognise and celebrate the following pupils who are high performing in a variety of sports outside of school

We must also congratulate upper 6th Anya J who has been selected to represent the England U18 squad and wish her well as she goes off to study in the USA from September.
And also, Grace T who is part of the England Hockey talent academy.
In athletics Aimee H qualified for the English schools cross country and athletics championships whilst Abbie E also qualified for the athletics and is ranked 4th in the north west within the combined events pentathlon with a huge PB of 2685 points.
