In July, Lower Sixth pupils, Reuben Bond and Jonny Latham, are running/walking a virtual Three Peaks Challenge. The 55.14 km route covers approximately 1500m of ascent. As they are carrying their own equipment, it is technically classed as an ultra-marathon!
The pair were meant to be doing The Three Peaks Challenge this summer, but due to the current situation are unable to do this.
The challenge is to raise much needed funds for Trinity Hospice who cared for Reuben’s Dad at the end of his life and have since given Reuben first class counselling to help make a painful period in his life a little bit easier.
Trinity Hospice are a fantastic charity who do so much for our local community, whilst also currently providing care for Covid-19 patients. However, due to the pandemic they have not been able to raise funds how they normally would. Reuben and Jonny decided they would like to help keep the hospice’s doors open.
They have mapped out the route themselves, starting at Parlick Fell (near Chipping and Beacon Fell) and then going through Beacon Fell, Bilsborrow, Poulton, and then finally finishing at Blackpool
If you would like to make a donation to this very worthwhile cause, Reuben and Jonny would be very grateful.
