On Wednesday, Kirkham Grammar School were delighted and very excited to host our first author visit in over 18 months.
In the morning, Seth Burkett spoke to our First and Second Year pupils about his journey from non-league football to being the only British footballer playing professionally in Brazil, to studying English and Sports Science at Loughborough University, before releasing his first book about his time in Brazil called ‘The Boy in Brazil’. Seth explained how he used his experiences as a professional footballer in Brazil and MA in English Literature to write engaging football stories.
At lunchtime, Seth enjoyed chatting to pupils whilst signing copies of his books.
In the afternoon, a number of Third and Fourth Year pupils were given the opportunity to be involved in a creative writing workshop.
